Don't mess with Mother Nature

Mother Nature and our busy work schedules did not cooperate with our camping plans this weekend. We just couldn't get it all together as soon as we had hoped and when we were finally ready, the forecast was ominous.

We did make it to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom with all our friends for Homeschool Day. The first couple of hours were nice and sunny and then from out of nowhere, the bottom fell out. I've never seen such a rainstorm come on so fast. It rained off and on (and we were soaked) for the rest of the day. The rides and water park were still fun, but we weren't looking forward to going back to a muddy campsite for the night. Then, about an hour before the park closed, the lifeguards warned us there was another storm system about to come through and that tornadoes were possible.

After hearing about the tornadoes that ripped through a boyscout camp in Iowa and demolished a town in Kansas, we were not going to risk it. We drove home -- 200 miles safely away from the bad storm. Our little WookieWok was sure happy to see us!
