The Abraham Family’s Journey to Russia to Bring Home Their Daughter

September 14, 2007

Congrats to new parents Jeff and Abbey Land

Jeff and Abbey are arriving home from Taiwan this morning with their son, Reed Drake Kai Land. I'm so happy for them and know they will be the best parents ever! In 2005, when Jeff and Abbey first moved to our little town, we were fortunate enough to have Abbey help take care of the boys in our home. She set the gold standard to which all babysitters and teachers have been compared ever since. Check out their amazing journey and adorable photos by visiting Landlife at: http://www.jeffandabbey2001.blogspot.com/

There is nothing new on our adoption front to report. (Except that I cleaned my desk and found a missing document we thought was lost. Yea!) We are just settling into our fall routine with school-work, soccer, guitar lessons, weather finally cool enough to play outside again, etc.

I received an e-mail this week that completely blew my redneck jokes away, so I decided to share:

You Might be a redneck if... A little rain doesn't spoil the fishing

You need fashion tips from your husband...

You wear a shirt like this for your engagement picture... (and your fiancee looks like she is 12 )

Your wedding picture looked like this.

And your wedding cake looked like this...

Your mailbox looks like this...

Your doghouse looks like this...

Your pickup looks like this..

You have a deer's butt for a door bell...

You don't need a lake to do a little skiing...

Or if your wife is quoted in the local paper saying...

Soccer games start Saturday and all four guys are playing this year! Of course, photos and videos will soon follow.

I love that we are on the same post as a redneck post. We have a book that you might should get for the boys, "10 Redneck Babies"! It's hilarious!
