The Abraham Family’s Journey to Russia to Bring Home Their Daughter

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree ... where are you?

A friend at church was in need of a Christmas Tree. The drought this summer really did a number on trees in our area so prices at the tree stands are through the roof. We wanted to help her out, but we've never cut a Christmas tree from our own property before.

It was a nice day and we thought, if nothing else, the hike through the woods would be a nice afternoon break. Pickings were slim, and we had to walk all the way to the back 40, but the boys finally found the perfect tree.

We saw a bunch of sad looking evergreens along the way. One tree looked more like Charlie Brown's. They had to keep looking ...

Everyone took turns sawing. Then they hauled it out of the woods to Dad's truck. They were so proud to deliver the tree and it was a perfect fit!

Now, they all want to go back out to the woods and find a tree for our house. Oh, boy!

Merry Christmas!

I'm imagining how lovely that fresh cut tree must've smelt!
