The Abraham Family’s Journey to Russia to Bring Home Their Daughter

December 2, 2008

Trip 2 - Day 3: Novokuznetsk - It's offical!

We are the proud parents of a little girl! Yesterday was long and grueling, but the actual court procedure only lasted about an hour. The judge approved our petition to adopt and she waived the ten day waiting period!!!

We get to pick her today (Wednesday morning.) The next post will be the one everyone is waiting for where we introduce our daugter, Alexis Katerina Abraham!

For those of you wondering about my coat... no I still don't have one. We have been going non-stop since our plane landed, barely even taking a break to eat. However, today Lena has promised to take us all shopping! It hasn't been a problem though because my hat and gloves work great and the TN Titans hoodie has been enough to get me from the car into the next building. While inside a car and/or building it is sooo hot we could all be wearing swimsuits and be comfortable!

Last night it was -40. We had to open the window in our room to cool it off enough to sleep. Russians are serious about their heat!

P.S. The spell check on blogger is not working so please forgive any typos.

Thanks for all your prayers and wonderful comments. They really mean a lot to us! All in all, after the rough start, we have felt very blessed that things are going so smoothly this trip!

I cannot imagine not having a coat, but like you I didn't wear mine much as I was always hot. The time b/w buildings and the car wasn't long enough to get chilly. Usually, it was refreshing!!

Congratulations. Your daughter is absolutely beautiful!!
