The Abraham Family’s Journey to Russia to Bring Home Their Daughter

Not Me! Monday!

This is my first attempt at this. I have been cracking up reading these posts for months and, boy oh boy, do they make me feel better about the crazy things that happen at our house. This blog carnival was created by McMama. You can head over to MckMama's blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did NOT take my five kids to BounceU after church on Sunday and not let them actually bounce. I did not arrive an hour and 1/2 late and walk in completely clueless. I certainly did not think we were early or anything. Of course not, because my e-invite clearly stated that the party started at 12:30. I did not have it set in my mind that the party started at 2:00. Nope, not me. I ALWAYS double check my calendar each day.

I did not let my calendar expire in 2008 and not order a refill until three days ago.

When my oldest informed me that the BounceU worker said there would be no bouncing
after pizza time, I did not say "Oh, he must be just teasing you!" I absolutely did not send my four boys off to go bounce, only to have them kicked out of Carson's birthday party. Oh no, that would be too embarrassing for them and I would never subject them to that kind of humiliation. [Who is Carson you may ask? Yeah, that's what my boys wanted to know too... before they got "bounced" from his party.]

And I definitely was NOT sooooo looking forward to meeting my bloggy friends at the party. Nope, not me. You see anyone who was as excited about this party as I was would have known what time it started.

I did not enjoy meeting
everyone and having a few brief moments of real live conversations with them. Their kids are not the most adorable kids who have ever walked this earth or anything! They are not even cuter up close and in person!

I did not have four very disappointed boys and one
sleepy little girl on my hands when we left. That couldn't be me because I am supermom and I never get schedules mixed up or make mistakes.

I did not try
to save the day by offering to go to the Adventure Science Center. That wouldn't have been an easy fix for me because we do not have a memberships thereby making admission completely free. Based on their reactions to the offer I didn't make, I am not thinking that maybe the kids have been there a few too many times.

We did not
end up on 2nd Avenue in Nashville at Laser Quest instead. I mean, really, what kind of mom in her right mind would take five kids to down town Nashville by herself. I did not hang out in the lobby with baby sister and let my (almost) 5 and 6 year olds go in with only their 9 and (almost) 11 year old brothers to watch after them. Nope, not in a million years would I do that. Besides, they would not have had any fun!

We do not now have a birthday
party booked at Laser Quest in few weeks. Oh no, I would seriously have to be out of my mind to do something like that!

And I did not forget to take a picture of the cool
Laser Quest sign for my first ever Not Me! Monday! post. Nope, not me.

But I did get a few cute ones of
Lexi and crew!

And, finally, I did not type with post with a 16 month old eating PecanSpins for breakfast on my lap. That's just not possible. I would never let that kind of junk food in my house!

Ha. Love it. Sorry that you missed the bounce time yesterday. It was good to be able to talk if only for a little while. Don't worry, we were all so busy keeping up with our kiddos during the jump time that we didn't get much more time to talk then either. Maybe we can plan another outting this spring when the weather is nicer...maybe a picnic at the park?

You are too funny! I'm so sorry you missed the bounce time and wish I would have emailed you Saturday to make sure you were still going to be able to make it! At least the kiddos got to have fun playing lazer tag! Carey is right though - we didn't really get to talk during bounce time either. It was so good to meet you in person. We found our way around Vandy on Monday and Alex loved it, of course. Now if we could just get him focuses more on grades and less on girls he might actually get accepted! :-)

How fun! I would never believe those things ever happened to you! I must admit I think LaserTag is great, even at my age.
