The Abraham Family’s Journey to Russia to Bring Home Their Daughter

5 Months

Our dear, sweet Lexi has been with us for five months now. She continues to brighten our home with her smile. The sound of her giggles are contagious. She is 19 months old and a bundle of energy. She loves being the center of attention, especially with her brothers. She gives the sweetest spontaneous hugs and kisses. If she gets hurt or frightened, she will wrap her arms around my neck and bury her head under my chin. She loves to be rocked, spun, tickled, chased, tossed, flipped, kissed, and snuggled. She is a girl who knows what she wants and does not like to be told no. She has been testing her boundaries big time and trying to see just how far her cuteness is going to get her around here. Her favorite place is outside. She loves all her shoes and everyone else's too. She sits in our laps to read books one minute and is climbing over our heads the next. She hasn't met an animal yet that she didn't love, but baby kittens are her favorite by far. She is appropriately shy around other adults. She is a daddy's girl. She will happily share her food, but not Mom's lap. She doesn't talk a lot, but knows how to get her point across. She seems to understand everything we say. She is a great traveler. She is just as comfortable at the soccer and baseball fields as she is at home. She always picks the colors pink and purple first. She'll get on floor and drive toy cars and throw balls around the house. She is very coordinated, can run fast, and kick a ball. She has mastered walking up and down stairs and can maneuver over and around the toys littering our living room floor without batting an eye. She can be so silly and has the greatest facial expressions. She can clean out a drawer or clear a pantry shelf in the blink of an eye. She has deep conversations with the phone pressed to her ear, even if we don't know what she is saying. She especially loves to *help* fold towels and then play in the empty basket. Oh, what did we ever do without her five months ago?

Was that paragraph long enough for you?

Since I've been such a slacker about updating my blog, I almost forgot to get photos of Lexi today. These were taken this evening right after her bath. She is wearing her nightgown and ready to head off to beddy-bye.

I love this photo because it shows off her long lashes.
Her hair seems to get lighter everytime I wash it. At this rate, she may be a little blondie by the end of summer.

This is Lexi's mischievous look.
It's like she is saying, "I know you just said 'no', but I'm going to do it anyway. Aren't I cute?"
