Pumpkins, Fall Festival and Red Neck Olympics

Fall has always been my favorite season. But after the earth scorching heatwave and drought we had in August and September, I was a little worried about how our fall weather would be this year. Fortunately, it has been really nice so far. The leaves are turning colors and starting to cover the ground all around us. The boys enjoy piling up leaves on the trampoline and jumping in them. We've had fun carving pumpkins, playing soccer, going on nature walks, and playing football in the field next to our house.

Nolan and Garrett didn't care for digging out the pumpkin seeds. It didn't bother Liam or Preston. They got really creative this year.

Life House Fellowship Fall Festival

One of the things we most look forward to every year is the annual Fall Festival at our church. This year's theme was "Red Neck Olympics". In addition to the traditional activities like trunk or treat, pony rides, bobbing for apples and the cake walk, there were games like the "toilet toss", "wheelbarrow races", "sack races" and other hilarious activities. It was a blast. There was so much to do that my five year old jumped out of the car and I didn't see him again for almost two hours. That's another nice thing about doing things with our church, I didn't even have to worry about him at all. We all caught up with each other in time for Hot dogs, BBQ and Chili. The night was topped off with nice long hay ride.

Martin took Preston and Garrett to the TN Titans game against the Oakland Raiders, but they made it to the festival just in time! Here is a glimpse of all the fun.....

Do we know how to have fun or what!!!

We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful church family. The day was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the TN Titans even won their game.

Pumpkins on our porches

Gold among the brown

Leaves of rust and scarlet

Trembling slowly down

Birds that travel southward

Lovely time to play

Nothing is as pleasant

As an autumn day!
