The Abraham Family’s Journey to Russia to Bring Home Their Daughter

Perspective

There is nothing like tragedy to put life back into perspective. I am so thankful for every precious moment with my family. I have the great privilege of being married to a wonderful husband and father and I get to be mom to four awesome boys. Life is too short to hurry along even one single day or moment in time. I will treasure the time with our little girl too, when that time comes. But for now I am going to live and love in the moment and not let a day go by that I don't thank God for the blessings He has given us.

Mathew 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Click to read entire passage in context.

I received an email from our local homestudy agency this week: "It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Kathy Robison, social worker with HSC since 2005. On Friday, April 4, 2008, Kathy delivered a healthy boy, John Micah Robison, but sadly lost her life after suffering an amniotic-fluid embolism." I've been through four pregnancies/deliveries and had never even heard of such a thing. It is so rare that most obstetricians will never encounter it in their entire practice.

Kathy Robison talked to me for hours on end when Martin and I were trying to decide what to do about changing placement agencies. She was very passionate about her work and the families she helped. She was also very passionate about her own family and there was so much excitement in her voice when she told me she how she was taking a leave of absence from HSC to be a SAHM. I didn't really know her very well, but I am still so sad for Kathy's family.

And then there is Angie and Todd (Bring the Rain) who just brought their fourth daughter into this world but were only able to share a little over 2 hours with her before she passed. You probably know Todd's voice from "Selah". They live in middle TN too and I have been following the story of Audrey Caroline for a couple of months now. Believe me, that precious baby and her loving family have already touched so many lives and her legacy will continue for ages.

Putting my life in perspective with what those two families are going through right now and I realise how lucky, (a.k.a. blessed) I am. And my guys had to endure a few extra hugs and kisses from me last night.

Please remember the families of Kathy Robinson and Audrey Caroline in your prayers!

I think about those same sentiments a lot. I saw a pillow case in a gift shop this weekend that said something like, Don;t hold your breath waiting for the golden moments or you may wake up too late to realize that these are the golden moments!" I really feel like I enjoy my children to the fullest and my husband too. They are my greatest treasure.
