The Abraham Family’s Journey to Russia to Bring Home Their Daughter

September 17, 2008

Random Thoughts

We haven't heard anything about when we might get our court date. The last thing our agency said is that we are still waiting for the Federal Database Release letter informing the court that our daughter was on the database for eight months as required by law. The court won't set a date for our case until it receives that letter. It is not unusual for that letter to be delayed. I have heard of one other family that traveled around the same time as us who just received a mid-October court date. Please keep us in your prayers that our date will be set soon.

Since there is no more adoption related news, here's a few random thoughts and photos:

We have discovered why the cat food keeps running out so fast:

Between the Raccoon and Opossum, I'm surprised there is any food left for the cats!

Check out the cool video of the raccoon below. This is a balcony off our Master Bedroom. I don't think I like the idea of wild animals being so close while I sleep, but the boys want a new pet!

The boys really scored at the Fair this year. Their prize money totaled $162 and they didn't even enter the baking contest this year (click here to see my post from last year's fair)! Here is how they did individually:

Preston = $56

Garrett = $75

Nolan = $20

Liam = $11

They have big plans for that money, after they tithe 10% and save 10%, of course. It's hard to believe, I know, but I don't have any photos of their art work.

Nolan scored his first soccer goal ever on Saturday, possibly two goals, but the kids were so jumbled up one time it was hard to tell whose foot actually kicked the ball in :0). Martin is his coach. Garrett has a great team again this year and played extremely well despite the fact that his eyes were almost swollen shut from his fall allergies and the sneezing was driving him crazy. Hmmm....maybe rolling in the grass to make that cute little blonde on his team laugh wasn't such a good idea after all. Preston moved up to the 10-14 age bracket and still was able to score 3 goals for his team. He has decided that soccer is his favorite sport -- to play anyway. He wants to give up baseball and play Spring Soccer too. I should have listened to him when he asked to do that last year. He is still a huge football fan, but I won't let him play that yet. Hey, Peyton Manning's dad didn't let him play Jr. Pro Football. Okay, I have digressed. My point is I just LOVE fall soccer!

That's all I can think of for now....except:

Come on COURT DATE....COURT DATE......COURT DATE.......COURT DATE.....!

I check on you about 10 times a day. I can't wait for you to return for that sweet baby girl.
