Today marks 8 months since Lexi joined our family. So it was very fitting that we enjoyed a fun-filled day with family. Auntie Bunner and Uncle Michael from Atlanta took us all to dinner last night and then joined us for church this morning. Afterwards, we all hung out around the pool and swam, threw (or dodged) water balloons, blew lots and lots of bubbles, and munched on burgers and hot dogs. (Can't forget to mention the delicious home grown tomatoes!) Ashlae and Adyson came over too and the girls had a blast running around and giggling.
Later we played a couple of rounds of Family Feud and just sat around and talked. It was really nice.
It's time for another update about all the new things Lexi is doing and saying. She amazes us everyday. Hopefully I'll get that update posted soon. The only dilemma I'm having is finding shoes for her. If you have noticed that in all her photos this entire summer, she is either barefoot or wearing pink Crocks. That's because that is all I can get on her feet. I am tired of wasting money trying different sizes and styles that might suit her liking. She is either very picky, or I haven't found the right kind of shoe, or she just doesn't like to wear shoes or all of the above. Yet, she insists the rest of the family all wear our shoes and she loves her Crocks. It's okay most of the time, but today I wanted to put a beautiful yellow smocked dress on her for church only to remember that she had no shoes to go with it. The dress was much too fancy for Crocks (and this is coming from someone with no fashion sense at all.) So wish me luck in the shoe department when TN is having tax free days next week!
Here are a few photos from our weekend:
Now that I look at these photos again, I noticed that I must have been in a yellow mood for Lexi this weekend.
